This is how my desktop looks like.... in the month of MARCH

My little vacation...

A few weeks ago, I had an opportunity to relax and unwind at the Palm Resort's Hotel Sofitel. My family and a few other families went together on this little trip.

Palm Resort consists on the Golf and Country club as well as Hotel Sofitel. I did not have chance to "explore" the Gold and country club, but I stayed at the Hotel Sofitel there for a few days. This resort is located in Senai, Johor. To know more please visit this link : http://www.palmresort.com/

I (we) arrived there rather late. Like any other hotels, I supposed, it had a big and spacious entrance. The ceiling was very high. We headed to the lobby and requested our pre-booked rooms.
I (we) placed our luggage( which was alot, even though it was only a few days...) and proceded to dinner. There were a few types of restaurants in this Hotel Sofitel.

1. There was the bar - consists of a lounge, has heavy drinks, food, and live music(though not the best)
2. Sobasei japanese restaurant - I did not have a chance to try this restaurant. The price person was like RM 70.00++. Too expensive for me. I don't know how the food taste tho. Might be "legendary" hehe
3. The ishwara - Buffet (doh?)
4. a restaurant/cafe called Cocomo - =_=" No idea. some kind of lounge/bar...
5. Xin-shan Long - Chinese restaurant. No idea since did not try it out...
   

After dinner, I was hoping for some activities to do.....but, nightlife in this hotel is very limited. With my spirits dampened, I went to bed. =(

Not many things/activities to do in this place.....It was in the middle of "no where". Most,if not all, of the activities you could do in this place is :

1. explore - just for the lulz
2. play table tenis
3. play pool/snooker - RM3.00 per game
   
4. play carom
5. pratice archery - RM30.00 for an hour...
6. Bowling - the only thing that kept me from going insane on this trip
7. Swimming - doh? All hotels have this

Basically, the activities you could do here are sports based and for the day time. Also, most of the activites here cost EXTRA cash. Furthermore, there aren't any entertainment places anywhere near this place. So, I can say that this particular resort is for relaxation. Bad news for me, 'cause I rather have entertainment > relaxation/boredom.

[TUTORIAL] Dissabling windows logon

If you are the only user using your computer, then it will faster if you disable windows logon... unless your user account is password protected.

To get started :

1. Click Start > Run > type regedit > OK
2. Find this registry key :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon


3. With your user account name and password, find and double click DefaultUserName, type your username, click OK


4. Next, double click DefaultPassword and type in your password.
If there is no DefaultPassword value, create the value. To do this, follow these steps:

a.	In Registry Editor, click Edit, click New, and then click String Value.
b.	Type DefaultPassword as the value name, and then press ENTER.
c.	Double-click the newly created key, and then type your password in the Value Data box.

If no DefaultPassword string is specified, Windows XP automatically changes the value of the AutoAdminLogon registry key from 1 (true) to 0 (false) to turn off the AutoAdminLogon feature.

5. Next, double click the AutoAdminLogon. Type 1 in the Value Data box, click OK
If there is no AutoAdminLogon entry, create the entry. To do this, follow these steps:

a.	In Registry Editor, click Edit, click New, and then click String Value.
b.	Type AutoAdminLogon as the value name, and then press ENTER.
c.	Double-click the newly created key, and then type 1 in the Value Data box.

6. Exit Registry Editor.

7. Click Start > Restart > OK (optional, just to test)
After your computer restarts and Windows XP starts, you can log on automatically.

If you want to bypass the automatic logon to log on as a different user, hold down the SHIFT key after you log off or after Windows XP restarts. Note that this procedure applies only to the first logon. To enforce this setting for future logoffs, the administrator must set the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

Value:ForceAutoLogon
Type: REG_SZ
Data: 1

ALTERNATIVELY, you could also use this way. This is for users with Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition and in Microsoft Windows XP Professional on a computer that is not joined to a domain.

1.	Click Start, and then click Run.
2.	In the Open box, type control userpasswords2, and then click OK. Note When users try to display help information in the User Accounts window in Windows XP Home Edition, the help information is not displayed. Additionally, users receive the following error message: Cannot find the Drive:\Windows\System32\users.hlp Help file. Check to see that the file exists on your hard disk drive. If it does not exist, you must reinstall it.
3.	Clear the "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" check box, and then click Apply.
4.	In the Automatically Log On window, type the password in the Password box, and then retype the password in the Confirm Password box.
5.	Click OK to close the Automatically Log On window, and then click OK to close the User Accounts window.

Let me get straight to the point. Vundo Variant, a type of adware, infiltrates your computer through Java. However it can be prevented by updating your Java to the latest version as soon as possible. After updating your Jave to the latest version, your old version Java still remains in your computer and this enables the Vundo Variant to attack your computer. To prevent this : Head to control panel > Add or Remove programs > find your old version of Java and remove it/uninstall it.

[TUTORIAL] Basic guide to Desktop Modification!

Ever came across a screenshot of a "pimped" out desktop then saying " I wish I had that look". Well, I will tell a few simple steps that could go a long way.

1. First and foremost, change your wallpaper from you Windows one to a custom one. There are many websites offering very nice wallpapers or backgrounds.

2. Changing your boring Windows theme is a great start. To change your Windows theme by using third-party Visual Styles, you must have either WindowsBlind or style XP or UXtheme patcher. (More information on these products here). StyleXP and UXtheme patcher works in the same way, however StyleXP is able to customize much more of your computer, such as the icons, boot screen, logon screen, and more. UXtheme patcher is only able to change your Windows theme( taskbar, start menu, start button,). WindowsBlind is simliar to StyleXP but it enable the user to more customization, such as adjusting the withdt, height, colour, etc of the visual style. Honestly, I have never tried WindowsBlind. As of now, I am using Uxtheme patcher and it works brilliantly. Also, not to forget, Styler. This program is also able to change visual styles and your windows explorer toolbar. (After downloading the visual style, extract it to c:\windows\resources\themes\. Then, right click desktop> properties>appearance.)

3. Icons are also customisable. You need to use either Iconpackager or Icon phile. However I recommend Iconpackager as it is easy and safe to use. Websites to obtain icons :

4. You could also placed a calender on your desktop. Rainlender is a great tool. Its use low memory consumption and it is easy to use.

5. Yahoo widgets is also a great application for placing cool stuff on your desktop in easy and simple steps. Perfect for a user with little programming skills.

6. Docks are great tools both for appearance and also easy viewing of your programes. Docks also reduce the "messiness" of your desktop. Popular docks are ObjeckDock and RocketDock.
An Alternative to Docks would be 8start Launcher.

[TUTORIAL] How to install custom template in blogger.

Found your custom template that you fell in love with. Want to install it in your blog. Instead, got errors that frustrated you. Then look no further. I too had some problems, but i discovered a way.

First of all, copy the html code of your template that you want.

Then, go to www.blogger.com and login in to your blog. You will be redirected to you Dashboard. Click the layout button.
After that, click the Pick New Template button and choose any template from there.
After successfully choosing and saving your new temporary template, click on the Edit Html button next.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Revert widget templates to default button
Next, highlight everything in the white box in the Edit Template area. To do so, either click anywhere in the box and press Ctrl + A or right clicking in the box and press Select All.
Once highlighting all the text in the box, delete it and replace it with the Html code for your new custom template. Then save the changes and voila... It is done.

Perfect World - MY EN [Part 1]

Last year, I found out that Perfect World had a Malaysian server hosted by Cubinet Interactive. So, I figured that this would have little lag for me. Few months ago, the open beta started for this game, and manage to try this only last month. As of now, I have a level 23 Elf archer, so I may not know all the secrets to this game. Generally, this game has 3 distinctive races :

• Human
• Elf
• Were

The Human race is broken down into :

• Warrior (WR)
• Magician (MG)

The Elf race is then divided into :

• Elf priest (EP)
• Elf Archer (EA)

The Were race is branched into :

• Were Beast (WB)
• Were Fox (WF)

Each profession or job has its strengths and weaknesses. The gameplay is also fun overall. The battle system in this game is not unique but it is certainly easy to learn fast. Leveling isn't too hard either. Leveling is built mainly on quest. Mindless grinding isn't encourage as the experience points obtained from killing monsters is little. Most of the quest in this game are as follows :

• Killing a certain amount of monsters - Easy type of quest, most of the quests are this type.
  
• Obtaining a certain amount of items from a monster - Not my favourite type
• Meeting a certain NPC (Non-Playable character)

Apart from quests, there is also mining. Mining enables the production of weapons, armor, accessories, and consumables. There is also dungeon quests, know as fb ingame. These quests require a tablet and a party of strong players as there is a boss in these dungeons which requires to be slain. The graphics in this game are also very pretty. I am awed by it.

This really is a "Perfect" world!
