The First Day I Went to Shah Alam!

29th June 2008. After receiving the official JPA scholarship (hehehe), My family and I (except my sister and brother) ventured into uncharted territory... Shah Alam!!! Well, the sun was shining brightly and that, for me prove to be darn useful.

The date to rendezvous was to be 30th June 2008, 8a.m. So, My family and I departed from the Hotel that we stayed at and made our way to the cold, heartless, and pink Kolej Cendana. And you wouldn't believe the gargantuan people who were there. It was chaos. Just chaos. Mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, babies, and a whole lot of cars, mostly Protons. Noise everywhere. Shouting here and there. Anyway, my family and I alighted the car, walk up to the dark, main gate of the hostel and , and that was my first steps to a long, arduous journey I'll never forget. More on that later.

Anyway, I then proceeded on alone while my family stay behind. I then proceeded to register myself in the long, arduous registration. From getting my room key to paying RM 25 and to getting a lousy ass shirt. =( After successfully completing the registration process, I was utterly relieved. I thanked God and said a prayer. But it ain't over 'till its over. And it wasn't. Big, scary people came closer to me. They proclaimed to be the volunteers to help new students. They called themselves the PMS - pembantu mesra siswa. They commandeered me to follow them to my new room. I was frightened. I had no choice. I tagged along with them.

That led me seeing my new "house". It felt cold, unwelcoming, evil, immoral and....... cold. I, however, had absolutely no choice. I had to live here and live here I had. So with that sad thought, I went down to meet up with parents and told them I had to bring up my stuff to my new "house". So off we went to bring 2 luggage and a few bags containing ordinary stuff, such as clothes, clothes and clothes. It took awhile to get the stuff to the new "house", but it was possible, barely though.

My parents saw the room and they didn't anything. They were the speechless. After a full 5 minutes, my father said " so,,,,hmmm, this is it, huh?" Well, I thought to myself, this is what hostels are supposed to be like. Then my mother started to unpack my stuff just to make sure everything was in order. The time now was 10.30a.m. By this time, I have already greeted 2 of my new "housemates" - Sharma and Amin. Cool fellows. More on them later.

Soon, I returned to Ground Level (by stairs!!!!) to attend a mandatory talk by the officers present on that day. The main idea was that the JPA officers were late and were arriving close to noon. Bah, but it didn't matter 'cause this was something I had to get use to. So after wasting time hanging and chatting with my new "housemates", those JPA officers came at 11.20a.m. All the JPA students came down and lined up and proceeded to hand over the documents. By this time, I coincedentally met Wei Jie, but I already knew he was coming. ;) Even more surprising he and I happen to get the same room. Woah!

Later, I had my lunch at the infamous Dawood, which was my first step to more sadness and scary experiances. Prices were exorbitant. Even my parents were shocked when the bill came. Well, nothing could be done. We headed back to Kolej Cendana, and to my dismay, it was time my mother and father had to leave. Sad I was. I waved goodbye to them and headed to my new "house". I sat on my bed, took out my laptop and watched some anime.

'Till next time - Tootles~
